ATZ
INCERCO's ATZ ceramic is an Alumina Toughened Zirconia that is Hot Isostatically
Pressed. Combining YTZP (Yttria - Tetragonal Zirconia Polycrystalline) ceramic with ultra
high purity Alumina and then Hot Isostatically Pressing it, gives INCERCO ATZ ceramic
transformation toughened properties as well as a toughness that is unheard of for
ceramics. This is due to its martensite-type transformation mechanism of stress induction
along with the introduction of ultra high purity alumina into its latice structure.

Among the engineering ceramic materials, INCERCO ATZ ceramic has some of the
highest mechanical strengths and toughness of any ceramic material in the world.  With a
flexural strength near or equal to cemented carbides, it is the ultimate choice in zirconia
ceramic materials.
