This versatile precision tool allows you to perform precision centerless through
feed, plunge, infeed and secondary operations, when mounted to the PRECISION
GRINDING SYSTEM'S double sine base plate.  Used to manufacture round precise
geometries, tolerances of 50 millionths roundness and straightness can easily be
achieved.  I.D. grinding and I.D. chamfers that are concentric to the O.D. by less
than 50 millionths can also be easily done on a surface grinder with a high speed
attachment or can be done on a V.M.C.  This unit is also specially designed and has
special features to allow for the grinding of extremely tight concentricity by
allowing you to grind parts between centers in a centerless setup.

The versatile design of the PRECISION GRINDING SYSTEM double sine plate
allows for angle set ups that can be generated in either direction of the Y axis.  This
feature allows you to perform almost unlimited functions when utilized on a V.M.C.
with our Precision Grinding System angle plate because you can switch from using
the system on only the XY plane to using it on a XZ or YZ plane.

At the heart of the centerless grinding attachment are high precision radial thrust
bearings that support the regulating roll. The precision bearings are assembled in
an advanced bearing cartridge design that keeps the precision radial thrust
bearings loaded to their desired preload ratings. This ensures optimum
performance from the unit for an extended period.
One of the primary benefits of our design over existing centerless grinding attachments is
that the relationship of the centerline of the regulating wheel and the centerline of the
grinding wheel is always held constant and can not change.  It is imperative in through feed
centerless grinding that the centerline of the grinding wheel is to the left of the centerline of
the part being ground and that the part being ground is on top dead center of the regulating
wheel.  When you raise and lower other types of centerless grinding attachments when
accessing the P/T block or when you are adding shim stock to the P/T block, the sine rails
can move in the cradle blocks thus allowing the unit to move along the X axis.  When this
happens, obviously the existing relationship amongst the  grinding wheel and the regulating
wheel changes.  Not having the correct relationship between the grinding wheel and the
regulating wheel is the most common cause of producing out-of-round parts.  One of the
patent pending features of our system is that the sine plate is held captive by our cradle
blocks with only .002" clearance along the X axis.  When you raise and lower the sine plate
to access the P/T block, the sine plate can not move along the X axis.   Not only is our
design concept better than anything out there, but through our years of experience, we
have designed in fail safe systems to minimize, if not eliminate operator error in making
out-of-round parts.
The precision centerless grinding attachment comes with an assortment of tooling that
allows for through feed, in-feed and plunge  grinding with capture rails or rollers and for the
grinding of parts between centers in a centerless setup.  Unit is manufactured in 6061
Aluminum and anodized black.
